AIH is a private pay practice. Dr. File is considered an out-of-network provider and does not accept any type of insurance. There are several benefits of not involving insurance including no restrictions on number of sessions, type of treatment, or whether or not a diagnosis must be present for treatment to be covered. This allows for increased flexibility and completely individualized treatment plans. Private pay also increases the level of privacy for the individual or couple involved, as the record of treatment is not shared with outside agencies.
Some insurance policies include coverage for out-of-network mental healthcare providers and may reimburse some portion of the cost of treatment. Review your policy and/or check with your insurance company if you have questions about your policy or coverage.

24-Hour Cancellation Policy: For appointments after our initial meeting, excluding emergency situations, you will be charged the full fee for the service scheduled if you do not cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance.
